FAQ

Do you tattoo or pierce minors?

  • Some of the artists will tattoo or pierce minors, so we recommend checking with the artist prior to scheduling an appointment. The following would be required for anyone under the age of 18 receiving a tattoo or body piercing:

    • A parent or legal guardian must be present at the time of the procedure.

    • Both the client and the parent/legal guardian must provide a legal form of identification.

    • A notarized copy of a parental consent form (can be downloaded here), must be presented at the time of the procedure. We also have print copies available at our studio.

Do you do piercings?

  • Artist and piercer, Tony Veinot, does piercings on a walk-in basis only, on Wed-Sun from 12-8 PM.

Do you take tattoo walk-ins?

  • Currently we are not taking tattoo walk-ins.

How much will my tattoo cost? Can I get an estimate?

  • There are many factors that go into pricing a tattoo, and each artist's rate is different. We recommend scheduling a consultation with the artist of your choice to get a better idea of what the tattoo will cost. During the consultation, we also recommend letting the artist know of any budget restrictions you may have.

What is the shop's minimum?

  • As a custom tattoo shop, prices are set by the tattoo artist. Each artist's minimum will vary.

What is the deposit for? If I have to cancel, is it refundable?

  • ALL deposits are non-refundable. Tattoos do include preparation prior to the appointment, sometimes requiring hours of planning and designing, so deposits guarantee the artists are compensated for this time. We understand emergencies do arise, and if given enough time, artists often can reschedule you without requiring a second deposit. No call, no shows result in immediate forfeiting of the deposit. We just ask that you be considerate of the artist's time.

  • If all is well and you make your appointment, the deposit is applied towards the final cost of the tattoo. Specifications on when the deposit is applied (if having multiple sessions) and the amount of the deposit differs between each artist.

How do I set up an appointment?

  • The artists at Frenchtown Tattoo Company book and handle their own appointments. Each artist has a portfolio page that explains how they book appointments. The portfolio pages can be found on our Tattoo Artists page.

How can I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

  • It is recommended that clients eat a meal and drink plenty of water prior to being tattooed. It is NOT recommended to come in with an empty stomach. Frenchtown Tattoo Company is in close proximity of many highly recommended restaurants, both in Frenchtown and on Historic Main Street.

How do I care for my tattoo or piercing afterwards?

Are you hiring?

  • Frenchtown Tattoo Company will always keep their website updated with openings in our shop (see our current Opportunities here), and we will also announce openings on our social media pages as they become available.

  • We also take applications for artists to display their custom art within our studio space. If you are interested in having your artwork displayed in our studio, please fill out the Display Your Custom Art application.
